Portrait of Britain Award: Shortlisted
I’m thrilled with the news that I have been shortlisted in this year’s ‘Portrait of Britain’ awards by the British Journal of Photography with my portrait of ‘Mr Sidduqe’ which was taken outside the Al Madina Mosque in Barking, Essex. The Portrait of Britain awards is organised by the British Journal of Photography and designed to illustrate the diversity of life in modern Britain today and the multiplicity of voices and stories across the country. My portrait of Mr Sidduqe will also be featured in the forthcoming Portrait of Britain book (Volume 5) which is published by Hoxton Mini Press and distributed worldwide. Big thanks goes out to Mr Sidduqe and everyone at the Al Madina Mosque for their hospitality and kindness in allowing me to meet and photograph their members. The Portrait of Britain book is released today and you can order a copy directly from Hoxton Mini Press.
